COSMOPOLITAN ARTS (in association with Youth Music)

Over 14 months, Cosmopolitan will engage 54 young people, aged 10-16, in sessions aimed at inspiring more young people to play a musical instrument, while enhancing their musical, personal and educational development. Starting in September 2017, the programme will be delivered for 30 weeks in hourly term-time sessions, and will build to a performance at Leicester’s African Caribbean Centre.

In addition, a separate summer school will culminate in a public performance as part of Leicester’s Cosmopolitan Carnival 2018.

We’re thrilled that such an iconic music brand as Ronnie Scott’s Charitable Foundation is supporting Youth Music.  Our mission is to help young people change their lives, by providing music-making opportunities in the genres young people are listening to and want to immerse themselves in. Jazz and improvised music are important elements in this mix and we can see from the projects the Foundation is supporting through Youth Music, how they are helping young people in challenging circumstances to achieve their potential.
