TOMORROW’S WARRIORS – YOUNG WARRIORS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
“I know there are young people from a similar background to me who, if given the opportunities, can create great art. It’s not curriculum style, because what we’re dealing with is art. The individuals are artists, and I want to hear what they have to say about the world.”
Gary Crosby OBE, Co-Founder & Artistic Director, Tomorrow’s Warriors
Tomorrow’s Warriors is a leading music education/talent development agency and creative producer specializing in jazz. Founded in 1991 by Gary Crosby OBE and Janine Irons MBE, Tomorrow’s Warriors offers a comprehensive, pioneering Learn & Train programme that helps gifted and talented young people who face disadvantage overcome barriers to fulfilling their musical potential. In particular, Tomorrow’s Warriors champions young people from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, girls and those whose financial circumstances or other personal challenges might otherwise lock them out of opportunities to pursue a career in the music industry. Tomorrow’s Warriors has been a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England since 1999.
Ronnie Scott’s Charitable Foundation is thrilled to support 1 year of activity from January-December 2019 towards the costs of the Learn & Train Programme which is designed to engage up to 30 individual learners aged 15-19.
36 weekly sessions across the academic year at Southbank Centre, London will be led by experienced musicians leading to 6 public performances at various professional venues/festivals reaching audiences up to 5,000 people.
